Crisis Cover Launches: Global collaboration creates safety in the unexpected

27/11/2019

Crisis Cover and FocusPoint International have joined forces to launch a new geolocation tracking, travel security and evacuation membership that offers travellers safety in the unexpected.

Crisis Cover Chief Executive Officer Carole Tokody said Crisis Cover complements travel insurance by covering gaps that traditional players are struggling to fill.

“Crisis Cover offers today’s tech-savvy travellers on-demand and easy access to immediate response services in an emergency.

“To deliver the membership, we’ve established a global partnership that combines our knowledge of the evolving needs of travellers with FocusPoint’s security and risk management expertise.

“The result is a powerful proposition for brands seeking to add value for their customers as well as improve their market share,” Ms Tokody said.

FocusPoint Co-founder, President and CEO Greg Pearson said the natural synergies and combined value proposition of Crisis Cover and FocusPoint made the decision to partner an easy one.

“FocusPoint is well known and respected as a duty of care provider in the corporate market, and we can see a growing demand for the firm’s travel risk management solution from the leisure market.

“Whether they’re on business or on holiday, travellers have heightened concerns about risks such as medical mishaps, terrorism and natural disasters that may disrupt their plans and threaten their personal safety.

“Across the globe, we have over 5,000 on-the-ground, multilingual medical, security and evacuation specialists ready to bring travellers to safety.

“By partnering with Crisis Cover, we significantly enhance our ability to reach leisure travellers. We will provide them with the same high calibre of connectivity, on-demand crisis consultation and coordinated in-country response services that our corporate customers rely on us for.

“Historically, our industry has been reactive, but we have to move with the market.
Today, leisure travellers are looking for ways to proactively look after their safety.

“With Crisis Cover, we give travellers information before they travel, stay in touch during their journey, and push relevant information and alerts to them as needed.

“If something does happen, we already have connectivity and provide simple, direct and immediate help,” Mr Pearson said.
